"Key Components to Include when Designing Your Ideal HVAC System"

Updated: Apr 4

Bryant Furnace, AC and Control

Navigating the delicate balance between efficiency and comfort can be complex. At Ryf Heating and AC, we specialize in helping you choose the ideal system for your home.

Things To Consider

ENERGY MANAGEMENT:

Compare AFUE* ratings to see which furnaces operate most efficiently. The AFUE rating tells you what percentage of the gas is converted into heat for your home – the higher the better. With a 98% AFUE furnace, up to 98 cents of every dollar you spend on gas goes toward heating your home.

*Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency

COMFORT MANAGEMENT:

Comfort “stages” affect consistency of indoor temperatures. A single-stage furnace is the most basic model that offers on and off airflow; two-stage models offer high- and low-stage heating as conditions require; and, modulating furnaces offer multiple stages for more precise temperature control and more consistent comfort.

AIRFLOW MANAGEMENT:

The “blower” or fan in your furnace typically circulates air through the house all year long. With the energy saving motors of FER-compliant furnaces, you’ll get more economical air filtration capabilities compared to previous PSC furnaces.

HUMIDITY MANAGEMENT:

To help cool your home, your air conditioner pulls heat and humidity out of indoor air, using the furnace blower to provide air circulation. A variable-speed furnace provides better humidity control because it operates on lower speeds for longer times. As a result, it spends more time pulling humidity out of the air than fixed-speed models.

Essential Parts of an HVAC System

HVAC System

1. Evolution® Air Conditioner provides reliable, high-efficiency cooling for long-lasting comfort and energy savings.

2. Evolution® Gas Furnace provides reliable, high-efficiency heating for long-lasting comfort and energy savings.

3. Evolution® Connex™ Control allows more precise temperature and humidity control along with programmable features to further customize your comfort.

4. Zoning sets different temperatures for up to eight different areas of your home for truly customized comfort and possible utility savings.

5. Evolution® Air Purifier improves air quality by capturing and killing select airborne bacteria and viruses and other irritating airborne pollutants in your home.†

6. Humidifier replenishes moisture to dry air.

7. UV Lamp helps inhibit the growth of contaminants on the evaporator coil, leaving your home with fresher indoor air.

8. Ventilator combines fresh outdoor air with conditioned indoor air for improved air quality – great for today’s tightly constructed home.

 9. Evaporator Coil is matched with the proper outdoor unit to provide even more cooling efficiency and years of reliable service.

† Based on third-party testing (2012) showing 95% of particles size 1.0 to 3.0 microns captured and based on third-party testing (2012, 2007) showing >99% kill rate for common cold surrogate, Streptococcus pyogenes and human influenza.
